In view of the current socio political setting of Sri Lanka, areas such as Corporate Social Responsibility, especially in terms of social integration and Social Impact Assessment are crucial for sustainable development of the country. From our past experiences with public institutions in Sri Lanka, we have come to realise that there is a much felt need for a training program that will endow local development practitioners with the necessary knowledge and skills which enhance their ability to work more effectively with the community.

Certificate Course in Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 

The objective of the course is to improve the data analysis skills of the participants using SPSS.

The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) is widely used in survey data analysis. Therefore, a sound knowledge in SPSS has become an integral component of the skills required in social research field. However, many young people who wish to enter   into the social research field often have no formal opportunities to learn the SPSS program. Therefore, this course is designed to address the needs of junior researchers who are interested in developing their skills on how to use SPSS effectively.

Tentative Dates: Four days 8.30 am to 4.30 pm (Weekends).

Medium of Instruction: English

Eligibility Criteria: Working knowledge in English

Experience in a relevant filed (Preferably, research officers in the public/private sector, universities and NGOs. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply)
